Let's see how to identify a faulty TPMS: if the light on the dashboard is flashing and then steady, this is the clearest sign that there is a sensor malfunction (for example a low battery); or a tire that does not show pressure. If after inflating the tire the pressure does not change, this is also a clear sign. Even a completely unrealistic pressure is a sign of a faulty sensor. If the light comes on after a tire change, rotation, or repair, it is likely that the sensor was damaged during the process. The most common causes of failure are a low battery (lasting between 5 and 10 years); physical damage (during maintenance) or a damaged valve; even tire sealants can clog the sensor.
