How an Electric Car Motor Works

Model: (Various brands) Various
Part: Engine

This video explains how the electric motor of a car works: it consists of two main parts: the stator, which is the fixed part that creates the magnetic field (using permanent magnets or electromagnets), and the rotor (the rotating part that is turned by the magnetic field and transfers motion to the wheels). Permanent magnets use rare earth materials and are very efficient; reluctance/induction motors do not use permanent magnets (thus no rare earths) but are still very efficient due to re-engineered industrial technologies. Electric motors have incredible efficiency: they can convert up to 99% of electrical energy into mechanical energy, with almost zero maintenance, as they have only one moving component (the rotor) supported by high-quality bearings: no oil changes, no belts, no spark plugs, no valves. They are virtually maintenance-free for millions of miles. In comparison, an internal combustion engine has 300 moving parts.

How to Repair the Key Spring of the Peugeot 207?

Over time, frequent use of the key's flip mechanism in the vehicle, dozens of times a day, inevitably leads to wear of the internal spring. As shown in this video, replacing the spring is quite simple and takes little time. After opening the casing halfway, first position the key, then the spring housing, and finally insert the spring into the previously mentioned housing. Close the casing by rotating it clockwise, ensuring all components fit perfectly, and test the key's flip mechanism.
