How to Easily Test a Relay

In this video, you will see a very simple method to test the relays in your vehicle using a 9V battery. The relay has several pins (usually 4 or 5); in this example, they are pins 85 and 86. Take the battery, connect the positive terminal of the battery to terminal 85 of the relay, and then connect the negative terminal of the battery to terminal 86 (the polarity to activate the coil is usually not critical for a basic test, so if you don't hear a 'click', try reversing the connections on 85 and 86). If the relay is functioning, you will hear a clear and distinct 'click' as soon as the battery terminals touch the pins; this test only verifies if the electromagnet works, it does not test the ability to conduct high current through its power contacts (which usually occurs through terminals 30, 87, and 87a).

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after. This way, you can check that the oil mark is between the minimum and maximum levels; finally, you can place the dipstick back in its tube.
