How to Perform DPF Regeneration on a MAN Truck

Let's see how to start the manual DPF regeneration on a MAN truck: press and hold the DPF regeneration button (marked with the filter symbol) on the dashboard or instrument panel for 5 to 10 seconds. The display will show the message "DPF regeneration active". Wait for the process to complete without turning off the engine, as the regeneration will proceed automatically. The duration can vary from 10 to 15 minutes, up to 50 minutes or more, depending on the filter's condition. Once complete, the message will disappear, and you can drive normally. During regeneration, the engine must remain running, and you should not drive; the engine will operate at very high revs, and the exhaust system will make a different noise than usual. It is important not to ignore the regeneration request; to avoid manual regenerations, it is advisable to drive on the motorway at sustained revs (but this is unnecessary advice for a professional driver).
