Overhauling Starter Motor for 1.3 CDTi Engine

In this video, you will learn how to overhaul the starter motor of a 1.3 CDTi (MultiJet) Fiat or Opel engine. Specifically, you will see how to service the brushes of the motor, which are components subject to wear over time and may stop functioning when worn out. Unscrew the nuts of the starter motor and separate it into two parts between the motor and the rotor gears and magnets (as shown in the video). Now, you need to service the brushes: lightly sand the contact surfaces and the brushes with 240 grit sandpaper to improve contact! Grease all components and reassemble everything!
