Which is Better: a Cone Filter or a Carbon Airbox?

In this video, we seek the answer for tuning enthusiasts who ponder whether a carbon airbox or a cone filter is better. For more street-oriented setups, a closed filter, preferably carbon, is better as it receives less air. However, for more performance-oriented setups, a cone filter is preferable as it allows more air in (including hot air from the engine). The closed filter easily receives fresh air thanks to the intake pipe, and the carbon helps keep this air cool. Naturally, a cone filter used for performance can have barriers to prevent hot engine air from entering, but generally, if we install it with the idea of receiving more air, we must know it won't only receive fresh air, unlike the carbon option.

How to Open the Bonnet on the Lancia Y
