When you need to draw power from the battery and do not want to use current thieves or run new cables, these devices can be very useful. They are very simple devices.

Replace the original fuse protecting the circuit with the splitter, which has slots for two fuse connections on top, allowing you to attach a new line. A small wire completes the device.

These devices - which must be of good quality, do not trust cheap Chinese ones - cost around £6.90 each on Amazon (+ delivery charges) and can handle high current draws. You can use underutilised circuits to connect other devices without complicated installations.

However, they must be used wisely and with a basic understanding of electrical knowledge. Great care must be taken when loading the splitter.

Depending on the installation, the two fuses may operate independently (meaning one can work even if the other blows) or blow together, according to the diagram shown in the video.
