As we know, there are different types of gearboxes: automatic, manual, semi-automatic, or variable. They are further divided into two categories.

The first category includes only the manual gearbox, while the second category includes all others. The rules for optimally using the first category of gearbox are: - Press the accelerator while gently releasing the clutch to avoid wearing out the engine; - Do not use engine braking; - Do not overload the car; - Regularly check the oil level in the transmission; - Change gears at the right moment.

The rules to follow for optimally using the second type of gearbox are: - Check the instructions on how and if it is possible to tow a trailer; - Avoid towing the car; - Avoid harsh braking and frequent acceleration; - Use the parking mode when about to park; - Regularly check the oil level in the transmission.
