Model: (Various brands) Various
The diesel engines of the Volkswagen group prior to 2008 are equipped with the pump injector, which is a different system from the classic "common rail". The common rail system consists of an external pump (a common conduit called a rail) with pipes that lead to the injectors, which maintain a constant fuel pressure. On the other hand, the pump injector system has a pump on each injector to create pressure, resulting in significantly higher pressures and remarkable performance. So why did this system become obsolete? Partly due to industrial issues, but mainly because of the emission control systems. With a common rail system, we can easily manage the injections, while with the pump injector, we are limited by the camshaft. Additionally, it is a rather noisy system.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHow to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen PoloLet's see in this short and simple guide the instructions that will allow us to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen Polo. First of all we open the front door, on the driver's side, and start pulling the opening lever of the engine hood, in order to open the lock; then let's move to the front of the vehicle and unhook the tab that we find on the central part, above the manufacturer's emblem, as shown in the video. At this point we block the bonnet with the lateral rod; then we accompany the bonnet down to close it again! by ScegliAuto More videos
