What is a Pump Injector?

Volkswagen diesel engines manufactured before 2008 use a pump injector system, which differs from the classic common rail system. The common rail features an external pump (a common conduit known as the rail) with pipes leading to the injectors that maintain a constant pressure of diesel. In contrast, the pump injector has a pump for each injector, capable of generating significant pressures and delivering remarkable performance. So why did this system become obsolete? Partly due to industrial issues, but mainly because of emissions control systems. With a common rail, injections can be easily managed, while the pump injector is constrained by the camshaft. Additionally, it is a rather noisy system.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after. This way, you can check that the oil mark is between the minimum and maximum levels; finally, you can place the dipstick back in its tube.
