In this video, learn how to check the engine oil level. It is advisable to do this about once a month to monitor for any leaks. Perform this check with the car cold, so that all the oil is in the sump. Most cars have a physical dipstick; only a select few have an electronic dipstick. Once you locate the dipstick, pull it out and clean it with a piece of paper. Reinsert the dipstick into its tube, then remove it again to check the oil level. The dipstick will always have indicators for "min" and "max". The correct level should be near "max", never above it. If oil is low, replace the dipstick, open the oil filler cap, and use a funnel to top up the oil, adding a little at a time. Measure the level again, replace the dipstick until it clicks into place, and the job is done.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after. This way, you can check that the oil mark is between the minimum and maximum levels; finally, you can place the dipstick back in its tube.
