(Various brands) Various - Video tutorial
Model: (Various brands) Various
In this video, we see how the AdBlue system works: we have 4 components: the pump, the tank, the NOX sensor, and the injector. The pump must keep the AdBlue system under pressure, which it takes from the tank at around 5 Bar. It pushes it towards the injector and sends it directly to the exhaust, before the catalyst; the engine is elsewhere. After the catalyst, we have the NOX sensor. This communicates with the engine control unit and the AdBlue pump. That's the whole system. The biggest problem with this liquid is crystallization, which means it forms crystals and becomes hard. This is detrimental to the system as it blocks the NOX sensor, which senses that the additive is not being injected, and informs the engine control unit, which then protects the vehicle. There is a system to always keep the system efficient. Keep the AdBlue tank at a constant level, this way crystallization will not occur.
