Why does the engine overheat, and is there a way to get going again? We explore this in the video. The first reason is obviously a malfunctioning fan; especially in traffic, the radiator cannot dissipate heat and the vehicle overheats. There can be several reasons for this: a blown fuse, a seized fan, or damaged wiring. If the thermostat is stuck, the remedy is to set the heating to maximum temperature, as the internal radiator draws water from the coolant without passing through the thermostat, helping to lower the temperature. Another thing to do is maintain a constant speed to allow air into the radiator; turning off the engine would be much worse, as Ema illustrates in the video. Another case: lack of coolant due to a radiator leak. There are products called "stop leak" to use in extreme cases. If the water pump has broken, you need to call a breakdown service. If you open the expansion tank when the car is overheating, be aware that it is very, very dangerous.
