In this video, you will see that batteries for vehicles with Start & Stop systems can be of two types: EFB or AGM, so check which type is installed in your vehicle. An EFB battery can be replaced with either another EFB or an AGM, while an AGM can only be replaced with another AGM: in fact, the latter is a battery designed for vehicles with higher electrical consumption, equipping mild or full hybrid vehicles. Some German-manufactured vehicles have a smart sensor on the battery, so when changing the battery, it must be registered with a diagnostic device that allows adaptation to the alternator. Remember that the battery base indicates the manufacturing date, and the average lifespan of a battery is typically 5 years: after this period, it can fail at any moment.

How to Open the Bonnet on the Lancia Y
