Until a few years ago, many workshops used to perform a test to verify if the shock absorbers were still efficient; the test involved pushing the car down on the corners of the body, however, this test is not very efficient and can only compromise the situation. The only reliable test is the drive test, during which you can check if the front of the car lowers during braking and the car does not slow down immediately. If there is a transfer of weight to the rear and make sure the car does not tend to lose grip during sudden changes in direction. Check if the steering wheel wobbles at high speeds requiring continuous corrections. Lastly, check if the front tires are worn out abnormally. All these issues are caused by worn out shock absorbers.
