How do you open the door of your car when the remote battery has died? In this video, see how to maintain a Volkswagen Passat. Take your remote and press the button to release the metal key. Once extracted, insert it into the handle slot and lever it until the piece detaches. Insert the key into the lock and open the car door. To close the lock: take the cover and press down on the handle until you hear the locking click. Replace the remote key battery as soon as possible.
