Volkswagen Passat - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Passat B6, 3C - Years 2005-2010
Part: Arm
Operation: How to replace the head of the swing arm of the VW Passat B6

If you hear a noise coming from the front suspension while driving on the bumpy road and the wheel seems to have some play, then it is very likely that the head of the suspension oscillating arm may have been damaged; in the case of this car the head, or ball joint if you prefer, is connected to the oscillating arm through a plate fixed with pins; to carry out the replacement, therefore, the car must first be lifted, the front wheel and the nut fixing the axle shaft to the hub must be removed in order to extract it; at this point remove the nut that fixes the head pin to the hub support in order to then be able to extract it with the special fork tool and complete the disassembly from the arm; we will proceed backwards to install the new one.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
