How to Replace the Wishbone Ball Joint on a VW Passat B6

If you hear a noise from the front suspension while driving over rough surfaces and the wheel feels loose, it is likely that the wishbone ball joint has been damaged. In this vehicle, the ball joint, or spherical joint, is connected to the wishbone via a plate secured with pins. To replace it, first lift the vehicle, remove the front wheel, and the nut securing the driveshaft to the hub to extract it. Next, remove the nut that secures the ball joint pin to the hub support, then extract it using a fork tool and complete the disassembly from the wishbone. Follow the reverse order for the installation of the new one.
