The Climatronic system installed on the Volkswagen Passat can be reset by turning on the instrument panel, so that the controls on the central dashboard panel can be used. Once the instrument panel is activated, you will need to simultaneously press the ECON button and the one with the arrow icon pointing towards the passenger's face.

In this way, you will notice that the climate temperature indicators will turn off; after waiting a few seconds, the temperature previously set will appear again on the indicators and the Climatronic system will be restored.
