Removing the steering wheel airbag on a Volkswagen car is a simple and quick operation that can be done independently. The following video tutorial uses the Volkswagen Golf 6 as an example, but the same steps can be performed on the Volkswagen Caddy and the Volkswagen Touran produced in the same years as the Golf. The first step is to insert a long, flat-tipped screwdriver into the lower side hole of the steering wheel to apply pressure from the inside. The second step is to push the internal lever of the airbag to disconnect the central body from the steering wheel. The third step is to disconnect the central body containing the airbag from the steering wheel by removing the connector. After removing the airbag, if necessary, we can also remove the steering wheel.
