How do you reset the AdBlue warning light on Volkswagen cars?

The AdBlue warning light that appears on the Volkswagen instrument panel indicates that the amount of additional liquid in the appropriate tank is insufficient: to make the warning light disappear, you will need to top up the tank. To do this, you will need to open the fuel door to locate the blue cap underneath: this can be unscrewed to insert the necessary amount of liquid into the tank. At this point, you can close the cap and the fuel door, checking that the warning light has disappeared from the instrument panel.
