How to Reset the AdBlue Warning Light on Volkswagen Vehicles

New Euro 6 Diesel engines are equipped with an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) catalyst that uses AdBlue to limit nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. AdBlue is not a fuel additive but a solution of water and urea stored in a dedicated tank that needs to be refilled periodically when prompted. This technology allows compliance with Diesel emission requirements while maintaining fuel efficiency, drivability, torque, and power of your car. If the AdBlue level is low, a warning light or message will illuminate, prompting you to top up with at least 5 litres of AdBlue. After refilling, wait for the warning indicators on the display to turn off with the ignition in the ON position before starting the engine.
