How to Remove the Front Bumper on a Volkswagen Golf 4

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

To remove the front bumper on a Volkswagen Golf 4, lift the bonnet and secure it. Raise the vehicle on a jack or column lift, then use a plastic or metal lever to remove the securing rivets located at the top of the bumper (detach the central grille). Once the rivets (pins) at the top are removed, take off the black grilles and unscrew the screws holding them (unscrew the pins at the bottom of the bumper). Detach the bumper from the bodywork and refit the new bumper with all the associated parts.
