How to reset a DSG gearbox

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf VII, MK 7, Golf 7 - Years 2012-2019

DSG is the term used by the VAG group for its automatic transmission. S-Tronic is just the commercial term used by Audi for the transmission of its cars, but it is the same transmission. Let's see how to perform the procedure to reset the learned values, so it is an attempt to improve the driving feel. If the problem is mechanical or electronic, this procedure will not solve it: engage the "P" and engage the handbrake. Turn on the ignition: press the accelerator pedal all the way down and hold it for about 60 seconds (we may hear some clicks coming from the transmission area). Turn off the ignition, but continue to press the accelerator for another 30 seconds, then release it. Get out of the car and close the doors, then lock and unlock the car with the remote control. Now take a test drive of 10/15 minutes in a varied way: urban and extra-urban, also making a brief acceleration at high speed. However, avoid aggressive maneuvers.
