How to Change the Battery in a Volkswagen Up

To change the battery in a Volkswagen Up, open the bonnet and locate the battery in the engine compartment. Remove any upper cover by unclipping it. Using a 10 mm spanner, disconnect the negative (-) terminal first and then the positive (+). Unscrew the bolt of the fixing bracket at the base of the battery and remove it. Lift the battery out vertically. Position the new battery in the same orientation, secure it with the bracket and tighten the bolt. Reconnect the positive terminal first and then the negative, ensuring the terminals are tightly secured. Check the starting and correct operation of the electrical systems.
