How to Reset the Service Light on the Volkswagen Golf IV/Bora

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

Learn how to reset the service light on the Volkswagen IV/Bora. With the key off, locate the trip odometer button on the dashboard (usually found on the right side of the display). Press and hold this button while turning the key to the "ON" position. Continue holding the button, and the display will show "service" or "oil" flashing. At this point, turn the trip odometer button to the right (without pressing it). The display will then show "service---" or "service reset" or just dashes, indicating that the reset is complete. Turn off the ignition by removing the key.
