How do you maintain your Volkswagen Passat? This guide explains how to replace the battery located in the engine bay. Open the car door and pull up the engine release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, then lift the front bonnet, disengaging the locking lever with your fingers, and secure it. Once the engine bay is open (you will find the battery on the right), unscrew the fastening pins of the battery terminals, then remove the battery from the engine bay and replace it with a new one (same voltage). Close the bonnet after maintenance.
