How to remove the door panel on a Volkswagen Golf Mk4? Before starting the disassembly, disconnect the battery terminals located in the front engine bay. Use a lever or screwdriver to pry off the handle on the door panel, detach the covering and the switch panel. With a screwdriver, unscrew the screws on the panel; use a plastic lever to release all the clips around the perimeter of the door panel, then pull it away with your hands. Disconnect the cable for the opening lever, the window switch connectors, and the speakers. Reassemble everything in reverse order.
