How to Fit Position Lights and Dipped Beam Bulbs on a Volkswagen Passat DIY

On the Volkswagen Passat B6, the replacement of the 501 position lights and H7 dipped beam bulbs occurs from the rear of the headlamp. With the vehicle off and the bonnet open, remove the rear cover and disconnect the connector of the relevant bulb. For the H7, release the retention (clip/bayonet depending on the setup), extract the bulb while maintaining its orientation, and insert the new one, avoiding contact with the glass; close the retention and reconnect the connector. For the 501 (W5W), extract the bulb holder and replace the bulb, checking the housing; then reinsert the bulb holder into the headlamp. Finally, restore the rear cover and check the lights are functioning.
