How to Replace the Oil Sump on VW Golf

How to replace the oil sump on a Volkswagen Golf 4, let’s see how. Lift the car on a column lift and unscrew the oil sump plug, allowing the oil to drain into a container. Unscrew all the fastening bolts of the oil sump and remove it from under the car. Use suitable sealant for the oil sump, apply it around the edge of the sump, and fit it under the engine. Tighten all the fastening screws. Lower the car back to the ground, then open the car door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard and lift the front bonnet, securing it. Top up with new oil and check the level.
