Replacing the Damaged Gear Knob on Golf 5

Let's replace the damaged gear knob on the Golf 5. Start by using a plastic lever to detach the leather gaiter frame, then cut the securing strap of the knob. Hold the knob and twist it left and right until it comes off the gear stick. Take the new knob and slide it onto the stick in the centre console, securing it with the strap; refit the new leather gaiter with the clips. Finally, test the movement of the stick in the centre console to ensure the knob is correctly fitted. Replace the leather gaiter if damaged.
