Replacing the Battery in a Volkswagen Polo Key

Is the remote key battery flat? Let's look at how to replace the battery inside a Polo key. Press the release button on the metal key. Once the metal key is out, use a screwdriver to pry between the rear plastic cover (in the space where the metal key fits). Pry until the cover opens. Remove the flat battery with a small screwdriver, take a new one of the same size and voltage. Insert the new battery into the key cover. Press on the remote to secure the rear plastic cover.
