Replacing Gear Knob on VW Passat Variant

Model: Volkswagen Passat B6, 3C - Years 2005-2010
Part: Shift knob

To replace the gear knob on this vehicle, proceed as follows. Detach the square frame of the gear lever from the centre console (use a plastic lever if possible or pull firmly on the leather of the knob). At this point, flip the fabric of the knob upwards until you expose the clip that secures the knob to the gear lever; remove the clip using pliers and pull the knob upwards. Once removed, insert the new piece by placing the knob onto the lever until it locks, reattach the clip to the lever, and insert the frame back into the centre console applying slight pressure.
