Replacing the Window Regulator Motor and Mechanism on a Volkswagen Golf MK5

In this video, see how to disassemble and replace the window regulator mechanism and motor on a fifth-generation Volkswagen Golf, as well as on other models from the manufacturer. First, open the front door and remove the door panel by taking off all the plastic covers and unscrewing the screws underneath; once removed, disconnect the handle cable and the window regulator's electrical connector. At this point, unscrew the screws securing the window motor and disconnect all electrical connectors; then unscrew the side screws of the door and remove the mechanism. Reassemble everything as shown in the video!
