Removing Steering Wheel Airbag on Volkswagen Cars

For safety reasons, before proceeding with the removal of the airbag, disconnect the battery. First, lift the bonnet, place the support rod, and disconnect the negative terminal followed by the positive terminal. Now, using a plastic wedge, remove the plastic cover behind the steering wheel, as shown in the video. Once done, turn the steering wheel 90 degrees to the left to expose the rear hole. Inside this hole, insert a small flat screwdriver and push the lever located inside that holds the airbag in place. This can now be extracted: disconnect the wires and you're done.
