How to replace the rear brake shoes on a Volkswagen Polo

Before you can start, lift the rear of your Volkswagen Golf. Begin by removing the rear wheel by unscrewing the respective fixing bolts. Then, unscrew and remove the screws securing the drum to the hub, and then remove the drum itself. This will give you access to the rear brake shoes. Next, unclip the springs connected to the shoes. At this point, unscrew the rear bolt to remove the brake cylinder. Once you complete this step, extract the shoes from their housing, disconnect the handbrake cable, and you will have finished the disassembly. To fit the new shoes and reassemble everything, follow these steps in reverse, and you will have completed the replacement.
