Operation: How to remove the rear door lock of the Volkswagen Golf 5

The guide shows how to repair the rear lock of the Volkswagen Golf 5. The procedure requires a good knowledge of the electronic lock system. As a first step, check if the bundle of cables that can be seen in the slot in the open door is damaged, otherwise proceed as follows. With a lever, remove the plastic edge of the door. At this point it is possible to remove the adhesive from the hole in the lock and, with the handle pulled, unscrew the screw in the open hole. The lock pawl can now be removed. The handle must be removed before the lock lock can be removed. Unscrew all the Torx screws present; at this point it is possible to remove the external metal panel of the door. Remove the plastic lever and unscrew the two lock screws on the side of the door. Now it is possible to remove the electric connector of the lock, the protective shell and the operating cable. In order to operate on the lock it is necessary to unscrew all the screws on the edge of the lock and remove the present spring. After having unscrewed some other screws, it is possible to separate the two plastic faces of the lock. At this point, with the electrical board on display, check the micro switches of the lock. Check the two electric motors if they react when stressed. Check the electric window motor, as it acts as a junction box for the cables entering the door. It is highly probable that the electric board of the motor will fail and need to be replaced.

How to set the time on the Peugeot 308
