In this guide, you will learn how to replace the battery in a Volkswagen key. Start by opening the flip key by pressing the designated button. In the space left by the key, you will see a slot; insert a flat screwdriver and pry it open. This will allow you to separate the remote into two parts. Take the part with the buttons and separate it by prying again in the space left by the key opening. At this point, you will have separated the piece; on one side will be the circuit board, and on the other, the battery housing. Remove the old battery with your fingers or with the help of a flat screwdriver and insert the new one, type CR2032, with the positive pole facing the housing and the negative pole facing you. Now, close the two sides by snapping them together with light pressure and reassemble the two parts of the remote.
