To replace the gear gaiter on the Volkswagen Golf, detach the clips securing the plastic covers around the gear lever so that everything can be lifted. This will allow you to unclip the catch located at the bottom of the gaiter that connects it to the gear knob. By removing the knob, you can also slide off the gaiter and insert the new one: position it on the lever, ensuring the clips fit at the base, and reconnect the knob to the gaiter.
