As seen in this tutorial, replacing the reversing light switch on a Volkswagen Golf is a straightforward task. First, open the bonnet and locate the switch, which is situated at the front of the gearbox. Since accessing it from the top of the compartment is difficult, raise the front of the car with a jack, unscrew the indicated screws, and remove the lower panel. Once done, disconnect the power connector from the switch and unscrew it using a long 22mm socket. To fit the replacement, simply follow the reverse procedure.
