The boot on a Volkswagen Golf may become stuck due to a fault in the lock, but you can still perform an emergency opening by following the instructions in this tutorial. First, go to the rear of the vehicle, then fold down one of the two rear seat backs and enter the boot area.

At this point, locate the panel near the lock, open it by turning the appropriate lock anti-clockwise, and using a spatula or screwdriver, lift the white element until the boot is unlocked.
