The alternator of a car generates energy and powers the battery. Problems with this specific part are easily resolved, allowing you to replace it without the help of a mechanic.

Once the engine has cooled down sufficiently, disconnect the battery at both terminals and carefully remove the belt that supports the alternator using an appropriate spanner, so you can easily slide out the alternator. Disconnect the wires that support it and remember their positions for when you install the new alternator.
