Replacing the Front Bonnet Support Strut

The front bonnet support strut is actually a gas spring that deteriorates over time, failing to support the weight of the bonnet. Replacing it is straightforward, but it is preferable to perform this maintenance with two people: while one person replaces the strut, the other holds the bonnet. Simply remove the retaining clip from the ball joint and then detach the joint itself, first from the lower part and then from the upper part; then fit the new strut, ensuring it is the same length as the original.
