Volkswagen Sharan - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Sharan 7M, MK 1 - Years 1995-2010
Part: Transmission
Operation: Automatic gearbox solenoid valve replacement

If automatic transmission malfunction problems occur, it is suggested to first carry out a diagnostic check to evaluate the type of fault stored: specifically, the diagnosis reports a fault relating to a solenoid valve located inside the gearbox whose replacement is quite simple to carry out; first remove the plate to which the gear lever rod is connected, then lift the car on the bridge and remove the cover positioned in front of the transmission: the two solenoid valves are located at the bottom right and the fault refers to that higher; then disconnect the sockets, disassemble the fixing pins, remove the valves complete with support and replace the faulty one; after installation, clean the cover and apply sealant putty before mounting it; finally delete the fault memory.
