How to Remove the Ignition Switch from a Volkswagen Golf?

In this tutorial, you will see how to remove the ignition cylinder from the Volkswagen Golf. Before proceeding, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to work safely. Start by sitting in the driver's seat, then undo the two bolts located at the rear sides of the steering wheel, remove the airbag, and disconnect the connector. Next, unscrew the steering wheel retaining nut, separate it from the steering column, and remove both control levers. Then, extract the steering lock retaining element using a puller, unscrew the lower bolt, and remove the entire module. To remove the ignition cylinder from this module, drill a hole in the indicated position and unlock the internal retaining clip.
