How to remove the ignition cylinder of the Volkswagen Golf

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 5, Golf 5, Golf V - Years 2003-2008

The following steps will show us how to disassemble and replace the ignition cylinder of the Volkswagen Golf, as well as the Jetta. First, we open the hood and disconnect the battery; then we get into the cabin and remove the plastic cover under the steering wheel, as shown in the video. At this point, we use a torx key to unscrew the screws of the cylinder, removing the pin and disconnecting the electrical connector; we install the new ignition cylinder and finally start the engine!
