How to Replace the ECU on a Volkswagen Golf

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 5, Golf 5, Golf V - Years 2003-2008
Part: Control unit

To replace the ECU on a Volkswagen Golf, first unscrew the screws securing the wiper arms so they can be completely removed. Once the wipers are off, unscrew the screws holding the plastic trim at the base of the windscreen. Removing this trim will allow access to the components underneath, where you can unscrew the screws securing the ECU in its housing at the centre. After disconnecting the connectors, install the new ECU, securing it with its screws and ensuring everything functions correctly.
