Replacement of Steering Rack Tie Rod End

When the tie rod end of the steering rack fails, you will notice a noise while driving over uneven surfaces and some play in the steering wheel. To replace the tie rod end, lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift, remove the front wheel for better access (though this is not strictly necessary), and loosen the lock nut of the tie rod end on the steering rack's axial joint. Then, unscrew the fastening nut of the tie rod end from the hub support, extract it using the appropriate tool, and note the number of turns. Screw in the new tie rod end with the same number of turns, secure the ball joint to the hub support, and tighten the lock nut. After installation, have the alignment checked.
