To replace the cabin filter on a Volkswagen Passat, start by removing the fastening rivets of the carpet located directly below the glove compartment on the passenger side. Once the carpet is removed, you can unscrew the screws securing the cover of the filter box, allowing it to be removed and the filter inside to be pulled from its housing. After the old filter has been removed, insert the new one and reposition the carpet with the appropriate rivets.
