Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 4, Golf IV, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003
Part: Shock absorbers
Operation: Car shock absorber replacement

The following guide shows how to change the shock absorbers of your car, in a simple and practical way, without resorting to the help of a mechanic. As a rule, the shock absorbers need to be replaced after approximately 80,000 km. The car must be lifted with a jack and then the wheels must be removed with the cross key for cars. The bolts that will be needed to reassemble the wheel at a later time must then be unscrewed. Once free from its seat, the shock absorber can be extracted from its seat to make room for the new one, then screwing the bolts in the same way as the old ones.
