Briefly follow these instructions to remove and replace the coolant temperature sensor on a Volkswagen Golf 1.8 GTI. First, open the bonnet of the vehicle and begin removing the upper plastic engine cover; then locate the temperature sensor at the bottom of the engine bay, disconnecting its electrical connector first, as shown in the video. At this point, unscrew the temperature sensor to remove it and replace it with the new one, as well as the original; then reassemble everything!
