The procedure for replacing the timing belt on a Volkswagen Polo involves loosening the screws that secure the upper engine block cover, along with the left side cover. Under this side panel, you will find the belt around the corresponding pulleys: the belt will be accessible after removing some obstructive parts. It can also be removed by disassembling the tensioner pulley and can thus be replaced with a new spare part. Once it has been inserted, you will need to tension it and reassemble all previously removed parts.
